Being a low-waste, low-impact business was a vital priority during the formation phases of Makin’ Groceries. Since our very first event, we have always used compostable serving utensils, as well as packaging; this is something we may not have been able to accomplish without the help and support of Plastic Free Gulf Coast. As a plant based restaurant owner, I feel that the overall concept needs to reflect sustainability, with a large focus on locally sourced ingredients packaged in compostable materials, all of which help reduce my environmental footprint. I can see the ocean from my restaurant, and I want to make a positive environmental contribution to our beautiful Gulf Coast.
